Speech Pathology

Speech Pathologists can assist people of all ages, from tiny babies right through to elderly people, with all aspects of communication and swallowing.

What is Speech Pathology?

Often Speech Pathologists are known to treat children who have a stutter, but it's much more! We help people who have a disability, children who are late talkers, mix up their sounds or have language disorders. Speech Pathologists also help adults who have had a traumatic brain injury, such as an accident or stroke, and need support to eat/drink safely or learn to speak again.

Whether we are doing an assessment or therapy, this can usually be held in your home environment, school, preschool/daycare or in a clinic setting. To ensure the best outcomes, we work closely with families, carers, teachers and other providers to support the person to achieve their goals for therapy.

Our services can be accessed through using a range of funding options (Medicare, NDIS, TACP) or paying privately. Some private health funds provide rebates for Speech Pathology.

Services include assessment and intervention for the following areas:

- Language

- Speech

- Swallowing

- Stuttering

- Multimodal Communication (using other forms of communication such as visuals or high-tech speech generating communication systems)
