Accessing therapy through Connect Therapy
Welcome!
Why Connect Therapy?
I'm Rachel Kerin, the founder & director of Kerin Health.
Kerin Health exists to provide compassionate and empowering health care to the rural communities of the Central West.
Over the years we have worked very hard to build a large team of therapists, on the ground here in Parkes and surrounding areas. Yet, even with these amazing therapists on the ground locally, waitlists for paediatric services are still extremely long.
In order to combat these wait times, and get your child the support they need immediately, we utilise the option of Connect Therapy.
Connect Therapy provides immediate access to therapy for clients without the organisation, cost and time required to travel to access these services.
It means that our clients and their families are able to access regular, individualised therapy from the comfort of their own home, or with our support in our clinical space in Parkes.
What is Connect Therapy?
Connect Therapy is a platform which allows specialised therapies such as Speech Pathology & Occupational Therapy to be delivered via video conferencing.

Common questions and answers about Connect Therapy
Read below for some frequently asked questions about Connect Therapy
What technology is required to access Connect Therapy?
Connect Therapy access requires a working internet connection, and a computer or iPad that is compatible with video calls. Both video and microphone function within the device is required.
Do I have access to Connect Therapy at home?
Connect Therapy is available to be used from any location. If you and your child are comfortable and able to access your appointment from the comfort of your own home, please feel free to do so.
If you prefer to attend your therapy appointment in a clinical setting, Kerin Health provide a private clinic room for you to access the Connect Therapy appointment, as well as the required technical set up, such an a working computer or iPad.
Is Connect Therapy therapy truly as effective as in person therapy?
Connect Therapy provides clients and their families with direct access to therapy with an experienced therapist - just as it would if the session were face-to-face.
Of course, with telecommunications there are a very small number of assessments that will not be achievable, however in 90% of client cases, clients are able to access the same high level of care and assessment that they are able to in a face-to-face clinical setting.
Like all things, using a new platform can take some getting used to, which is why at Kerin Health, we provide the option to attend your therapy session in our Parkes clinic space, where our administrative staff and Allied Health Assistances can support you in person to get started with Connect Therapy. We provide the internet connection and Ipad for every session if you do wish you take up this option.
